Autumn Colours

Finland - September 15, 2012.

During the autumn of 2012, the waterlevel was a lot higher than usual, so the city decided to keep the dam open for couple of months with occasional closing. Usually the dam is opened during summer for about 30 minutes everyday. The opening of the dam is popular tourist attraction so most of the time it is really difficult to photograph on the area, but now as the dam has been open for couple of weeks with ongoing flow, it didn't attract many people anymore, so I had a perfect opportunity to photograph the area from all the possible angles.

I took 3 exposures for making a HDR image, but the clouds were moving pretty fast but still too slow between the exposures for making solid trace on the clouds and the ghosting is very difficult to remove, so I scrapped the HDR idea.
Luckily I was able to manipulate a single exposure enough to make an even contrasts.
